 Father Alfonso Maria Fusco was born in Angri, Italy on March 23, 1839. He dedicated all his life in paving the way of Jesus of Nazareth in the hearts of men by his selfless service: providing quality Catholic education to the poor, helping the orphaned and being in solidarity with the needy and oppressed. With Mother Crocifissa of the Divine Love, he founded the Congregation of the Sisters of St. John the Baptist in September 25, 1878, whose model was Christ who walked through the streets of Palestine doing good and proclaiming the coming of the Kingdom of God. He died on February 6, 1910 and was beatified by the late Pope John Paul II on October 7, 2001. His feast day is celebrated every February 7.
